The fact that studies show acupuncture works on animals convicted me to try it. Also, like pp, I found the sessions better than therapy. My acupuncturist was so warm and caring.

This true but my RE is pretty darn honest (i.e., running won't hurt you even if people always say you need to stop, aspirin probably won't do a thing, etc.) and didn't totally discount acupuncture. By no means did he say it would help either but gave it a sort of "who knows" shrug. AND, after 18 years with no periods, after starting acupuncture I've had two natural cycles (might be related to all sorts of other things including fertility meds themselves but still!)

At the very least it doesn't hurt I my current acupuncturist also gets me to think about negative thought patterns and working on them too. So therapy and maybe some tiny benefit?!

I wasn't told to do bed rest after my transfer. I was lifting my 30lb toddler. Get the acupuncture if it will make you feel better. No worries.

Thanks all. This is the most uniform advice I've seen yet so day of acupunture it is.

I would do the accupuncture same day if you can. Bed rest has been shown to be pretty useless.

Do the acupuncture. Lots of evidence to suggest that it helps.

Sorry pp.
I would do what ever makes you less stressed. I did a lot of acupuncture

Honestly--I did everything I could think of--spent a fortune on acupuncture, ate well, exercised gently, stayed in bed after transfer, etc. But guess what? None of it worked, Still negative. I guess at this point at least in my case I wouldn't bother worrying about any of it.

Agree do acupuncture. There are studies showing it helps!

There is NO, repeat NO, evidence that bed rest helps. In fact, there are multiple studies showing it does NOT. If you think acupuncture would help, I would do that in a heartbeat.

If you were having a 5-day transfer on a Thursday and were able to get acupuncture a few days before and also, if you wanted, that day (but not for a few more days later if you skipped) ... what would you do?

Go to acupuncture knowing that's not quite bed rest (would be able to cab from home to the office even though the bus is a much more reasonable travel route) or skip acupuncture and do it a few days before and after the transfer?
