I just got the 5200S from Costco for $375. Works great but I don't have a frame of reference against the other models.

I was confused as well and couldn't find the differences easily. Here's a review that compares the 7500 and 750:

I don't know that you can go wrong with any Vitamix.

I love my 5200. It's probably the most affordable model (especially if you buy it refurbished, through their website). The newer 7500 model is supposed to be better though (and shorter, to fit under counters). Whichever you choose, you can get free shipping ($25+) and other special deals using a Vitamix promotion code from an online affiliate like http://rawblends.com/vitamix-blender

I found a site with a helpful comparison tool - http://blenderreviews.us/compare-blenders

It lets you select the different models and see the differences in features and accessories. I went with the 7500 and couldn't be happier.

Good luck!

It depends if -- in your book -- only old, sick, or gym rats people like to make homemade peanut butter, hummus, their own soups, their own salad dressings, quick sorbet style dessert etc. We have one. My husband makes a smoothie now and then. I don't like to drink fruit or vegetables but love it for cooking. My food processor can do mostly what I do with the vitamix but not nearly as well.

All vitamixes do this. That's one of their big selling points, that you don't have to take it apart to clean it, you just fill with water, soap, turn it on, and done.

I got the 6300 at Costco for $500 (regularly price is $650). It was a road show, but they have a different model (not sure which one) they keep in stock all of the time for $350.

There are many different models but many of them are really the same with a different model number or name. It IS confusing. When I was shopping for a blender, this Vitamix site helped me greatly. I didn't care to spend the extra $150 for the automatic buttons so I ended up with the 7500. No matter which one you get, it will be an awesome blender.

I'd like to get a Vitamix but I'm so confused about the different models. Can you help me?
