If you're a parent, you have the right to expect clear communication from the principal and a solid school discipline. But you DO NOT have the right to tell the principal how he/she should instruct the teachers she supervises or what methods of leadership work best. That's between the principal, the superintendent, and the teachers. Let them sort out their issues. You focus on your children. Things work A LOT more smoothly when everyone focuses on their own interests rather than telling others how to conduct their affairs.
+1000........ OP stated that his/her interest was how their friends were being disrespected and we know they probably can't speak up in DCPS and not get fired. Valid enough reason to have a concern to me.

I am a parent at another DCPS elementary. for much less (crossing some teachers and some parents) our former principal had to resign. I liked her and never witnessed anything improper, but others told me that she tended not to leasten and to be a little harsh with teachers (although she was very involved in the school life and was great with kids). there was a semi revolution lead by the teachers and the crossed parents, and she had to go. here you have a person who is "extremely disrespectful to parents and stuff" and "leads by scaring and punishing anyone who does not agree with her" and nothing happens? why are you all waisting your time on DCUM instead of going en masse to Central Office and oust the principal?
I agree with your post.
But if the Malcolm X principal is on the Chancellor's list of "favorites", she's not going anywhere more than likely.
