Make good food choices
Drink lots of water -- 2-3 liters a day, if not more.
Measure out your food. Are you sure it's 1100 calories?
What are you doing for exercise?

Losing a pound a week is actually pretty good. It takes time to lose weight in a healthy manner. It's far too soon to feel discouraged. Make sure that you're eating healthy foods, and consider consulting a nutritionist to make sure your diet is healthy and effective.

False. Real life is not so simple as the calories in/calories out dichotomy, and losing weight is not merely just about cutting calories (or the more you cut, the more you lose).

You need to eat more - probably around 1400-1500 (nutritious) calories.

Lean proteins, fish, whole grains, veggies, fruits, nuts, olive oil, etc. So you don't get discouraged, I'd have a splurge/treat once or twice a week, but still keep it in the same calorie range. Also, water. No diet soda. No iced tea. But water.

Drop every carb but vegetables. Add more protein than you "need." Drink a lot of water. Stop exercising except for fun until you drop some weight.

Good luck.

10:59 here - you can ignore my unpleasant comment, however, you will never lose weight doing what you are doing. Someone needs to say that to you. Join WW or a gym or get a nutritionist or something OTHER than asking people on an anonymous board................

Are you certain you are truly consuming 1100 calories?

More protein.

You're probably not eating enough. Try increasing your calories to 1300 or so. See if it picks up. Your body thinks it's starving and is holding on to fat for energy.

Do you have some expert help to make sure the 1100 calories you are eating are nutritious enough to give you fuel to exercise?

1100 seems very low for someone weighing 200 lbs and who is exercising. Starving yourself isn't a good way to lose weight.

Have you had a physical? Make sure your thyroid function is good, and that you don't have PCOS or another hormone issue. Hormone abnormalities can make it very difficult to lose weight.

And ignore the 10:59 PP.

It takes time to lose weight. Two weeks isn't a long time. It actually would be unhealthy to lose a significant amount of weight in 2 weeks, because it would be unlikely that you'd be able to sustain that.

Just keep doing what you are doing. It sounds like you are exercising and watching what you eat. Give it time.

It's frustrating, but it will take some time to see results. Maybe you could set some exercise goals that have nothing to do with weight (like can I walk a mile in X amount of minutes), and work toward that at first. That way you won't be so focused on the number on the scale.

Don't feel hopeless. Keep up the good work. You will see results.

If you are really concerned, get some bloodwork done to make sure your thyroid and other things are in the right range. Perhaps even consult a nutritionist to make sure that you are eating the right kinds of things.

It's one of the hardest things to deal with.... Most people who haven't been there, have no clue.

I have been eating 1100 calorIes a day for two weeks and have lost 2 lbs. and I weigh over 200 lbs.
I am getting scared that there is something wrong with me. Like I broke my metabolism or something.
I exercise every other day, and I make sure to work up a sweat each time.
I feel totally hopeless.
