I am paying $38k and I certainly hope my child will not be in a class with an unvaccinated child. The OP is entitled to do what she wishes with her kids but I am also entitled to have the school assure me that that is not the case.

See. This is why you have absolutely no business modifying the vax schedule. No all vaccines work on all people. That is why we need a very high compliance rate. Otherwise herd immunity doesn't work and a large benefit of vaccinating is not realized.

In Maryland, they have a section on the health form that has a religious waiver. There is no explanation needed as to what religion or why, so you just sign it and submit the vaccinations that you have done. We got grief like those on here from the school but they accepted it no problem as it met their licensing requirement (we were only missing a few). We spread out the shots due to high fevers and other reactions. Its not a big deal. Plenty of parents do do on schedule as they just "forget" or don't want to be bothered. There is a difference from delayed and not doing them.

Surely none of the private schools are dumb enough to let that happen.

Op, I suggest you directly speak with the school(s) you are considering and ask their nurse/them their policies and discuss your individual situation. It depends on your child, whether you have written statements from doctor about why you are delayed etc. It will cause trouble having people pinpoint their schools directly and may get some in trouble, even if they are abiding by the law. I don't know about your pediatrician, but at my pediatrician, the vaccines are less than 1 milliliter, not "tons".

Also, the DTaP, Hib, Hep A, Hep B, HPV, flu (except Flumist), pneumococcal, meningococcal, and polio vaccines do not have any live viruses, so I guess you don't have a problem with them?

Also, which do you suppose exposes your child to a greater viral load, getting the measles (or chickenpox) vaccine, or getting measles (or chickenpox)?

The question is DC law, and whether your delayed schedule complies. If there is an absence of vaccinations I suspect they won't want her to attend but if you have done some and will be doing others and it complies with the law, maybe.
