It changed my life, gave me the confidence to leave an abusive marriage and work on me. That was 19 years ago, I still feel empowered and can remember several women from my class. We learned each others deepest, darkest secrets and how we process anger. The instructors created profiles regarding our unique histories and setup self-defense scenarios based upon our issues with an instructor who was highly, padded mugging/attacking us. Lots of feedback and support was provided in the class. Lots of instruction, never worried about injury. Through the class, I started thinking about the idea of fighting to the death if ever I was attacked and using my senses to outsmart an attacker. If anything, I find that for me life is about clearly communicating with my voice, my senses, and fearlessly/fearfully weighing my options.
As a result of this class, I am highly observant and aware of my surroundings at all times and I'm no longer willing/able to allow politeness to dominate my reactions when my instincts are cautioning me to trouble, unsafe people & situations. Also, in general I'm more assertive.
I'm considered very nice, but can turn on a dime if I'm fucked with, loved the class.
You seem a little crazy. Good luck fighting a bullet.
