I don't buy gifts for teachers. They get paid, and they seem to want to bitch about what they're given, so....

They earn their salaries, they are not given them. A good teacher likely goes above and beyond her salary to ensure your kid learns well in a supportive atmosphere.

If you don't think that's worth a small thank you, fine. No need to come here with your bad attitude.

I gave amazon gift cards. Showed up in my house in 1 day! No fuss.

My fellow teachers and I all shop at Target and love this gift!! A custom stamp -- not so much.

I'm a teacher. I think a custom stamp with something she writes frequently sounds great. Especially in addition to a nice note and a gift card. That sounds like a fantastic gift!

1. The person has only been teaching for 2 years - so they are newer to getting items that may be the things that more experienced teachers have been gifted. (tenure was the wrong word choice)

2. I thought a stamp that had an expression that the teacher frequently writes on papers would be cute gift - and was asking if others agreed (obviously there is a lot of hostility on this)

3. This was in addition to a gift card.

Eh....I don't know. I was a teacher and didn't use any stamps. The giftcard and a nice note are good.

And to the person who says no gifts cause teachers get paid--teachers get paid shit. It's just a nice gesture for someone who has cared for and worked with your child all year (and who are expected to put their lives on the line for their students these days).

Wtf. A custom stamp?? Teachers are normal people. Who cares if she's been a teacher for 3 years or 30. If you thought she was good, get her something she'd actually like and use. Gift cards are good (trader joes, amazon, etc).

No, the kind you put in books. Seriously, the worst gift ever.

What's a less tenured teacher? Either you have tenure or you don't, right?

My DC has a less tenured teacher this year.

I was going to give a card, gift card, small gift themed around something they learned about this year. (possibly a custom stamp)

Any ideas of great gifts for teachers early in their career?
