The problem is hairstyles with my hair pulled straight back (buns, ponytails, etc.) only accentuate my thin spots (thanks, kids!) so low and loose is better. I'll keep experimenting or just chop it off. And I think my husband would laugh his ass off if I showed up for "sexy time" with braids

If it makes your husband laugh his ass off, that's probably your answer!

Sort of agree with this. Maybe not the look for your most serious and sophisticated appointments, but for casual, relaxing time I say for it! The world needs more individuals and less sheep!

It's a total "sheep" look, since it was just declared in again. Go ahead and wear it, but know that you look like the Swiss Miss on a bad day.

No Pocahontas braid, it looks assinine on anyone over the age of 8.

Definitely, particularly if your hair is center-parted and you're wearing a long denim skirt and carrying a guitar and/or a banjo.

Nay. Unless gardening or having sexy time with DH.

My hair is a lot longer than it's been for years and I'm looking for ways to keep it off my neck now that it's (apparently) summer besides the ubiquitous and out-of-date claw clip. I see double braids in magazines and catalogues but I'm not sure I can get away with it. I'm 37 and have extremely straight hair, if it matters. Any other ideas?
