Dr. Shapiro does not take new patients over age 4. Plus, he periodically closes his practice and then opens it up for a small window for new patients.

We see Dr. Karin Belsito at Pediatric Care Center of Bethesda. They take only 2 or 3 insurances, but we have been very happy there. We switched from KKI a few years ago. Note: there may be a wait to see her resulting from Dr. Conlon closing his practice. If you can wait, it definitely worth it.

Yes, i recommend Dr. rajasingham too. She is terrific. My son saw her after complicated surgery leading to horrible headaches. She saw him teice for over an hour each time, did a very thorough evaluation, and prescribed meds thathelped him within a week, after the neurologit at children's hospital (that took almost a month to get an appt with) did nothing except advising him to drink more fluids.

We are unhappy with the neurologist that has been seeing our son since he was 4 years old. He closed his private practice almost a year ago and moved to Children's near Shady Grove and Key West. The care hasn't been as good and it has been hard to get appointments. He has ADHD and PDD.
We then tried a psychiatrist, who gave us good information, however after 4 1/2 - 5 months has yet to take over writing the prescriptions for our son's medications.

We have called around and no one seems to be taking new patients. One option available is to be followed by our pediatrician. Another is to stay where we are and just push for what we want.

We were hoping for someone to follow him as he moves into middle school after next year.
