St. Alban's and most other prep schools list matriculations over the last 5 years. Their list seems all-inclusive and lists colleges such as HPY along with less selective schools like UM Baltimore and University of Mississippi. St. John's list has no timeframe, meaning, the acceptances could have been 20 years ago. It seems the school cherry picked the best matriculations of the bunch, leaving out the most popular. I don't understand why StJ's would only list the Honor College of UMCP and not UMCP itself. Their failure to do so makes it seem like they're trying to make their college matriculation list seem more prestigious than it is. It also makes it seem like they're not proud of sending kids to schools like UMCP. I don't think that is, or should be, the case, however, the list leaves this impression.

I am going to assume that the OP is actually looking for information and not trying to stir the pot.

If you value "matriculation" above all other things in a HS experience I would say that St. John's as well as all the other WCAC schools are not a good fit.

St. John's and many other WCAC schools are more about the whole development of many different children. If you only want you kids in a school that are HPY focused this is not a good school for you.

St. John's is the type of school that a HPY child can go to school with their learning disabled sibling. They have a program called Binilde that is for children with learning disabilities. They also have an honor program and everything inbetween.

I think St. John's and their community would be more apt to brag about the amount of alumni that go into the world and serve others than went on to HPY.

The St. John's community would never look down on an acceptance list with multiple children getting into the University of Maryland, and it is insane that UMCP is not listed on the college acceptance list on their website. That is crazy! Why? Because the alum that just built the stadium at St. Johns went to the University of Maryland College Park (you would know him as the guy that started Under Armour).

If you are looking for a academic boot camp, St. Johns is not your school.

That being said I know a St. Johns student who went to Yale, plays soccer and is Jewish. So it is really close to impossible to say "what type of student does well at St. Johns". I can say that a family that would be ashamed of a University of Maryland acceptance would not do well at St. Johns.

There's nothing wrong with UMCP- I certainly wouldn't mind sending my kids there. However, the St. John's College Acceptance page only lists UM Honors College when far more graduates attend UMCP.

I'm the poster who posted the links to the college matriculation stats. I don't have any connection to Landon, but I simply used it as an example of a school that is upfront and transparent about its matriculation stats. The fact that the mere mention of Landon causes you to throw out an insult leads me to believe that you may be the insecure one. Regardless of what you think of the school, I think it's at least commendable that Landon is willing to publicly publish this info.

StJ's stats seem very vague, which makes me to wonder if it's because their not proud of the matriculation stats??? The school has been around a long time, so for it to state that their students have gone to x schools provides no indication of which colleges have accepted their graduates in recent years or how many of their graduates have gone to x schools.
