Great advice. It sounds like your DD is doing splendidly in her current classroom. If she has a decent academic cohort and friends then there is no reason to have her rescreened.

Straight As doesn't mean gifted. If your child is thriving where she is, leave her be. If she is suffering and NEEDING harder work and it's showing up in her behavior, then push to have her tested again.

My daughter is in fourth grade and in her first year in PGCPS. In the beginning of the year she was screened for TAG and did not score high enough to be TAG identified. She said she was abruptly taken out of class and completely unprepared for the test. Since then she's maintained a 4.0 gpa and has been inducted into the National Elementary Honor Society.
Just how important is it that I push to have her screened again. Will it really benefit her that much?
