Google the number for the Master Gardener program for your county (or DC). They often have plant swaps.

I'd check with some neighbors; a great way to meet new neighbors, too. Walk around and see if anyone has a nice garden...I love gardening and give away cuttings when I thin out my beds. My neighbors do the same for me.

By the way, I come from a long line of home-grown gardeners/green thumbs; my mother tells me that neighborly swaps were THE way gardens got established. I proudly grow euonymous that I clipped from my grandparents' backyard garden 15 years ago. Although my grandparents died years ago, their plants live on.

neighborhood listserve.
