If you are planning to eat them that night then this is perfect. Put them in the cooler with a few blue ice packs and go, they will thaw in time for dinner.

Yes. It won't defrost in the time -- and even if it did, it would stay plenty cold.

We do a 10hr trip every year with a full cooler. We get a 3lb block of dry ice for the cooler and things are frozen solid at the end of the trip.

I would like to bring a 6 pack of chicken thighs from Costco to our weekend trip. The chicken is frozen solid, and it would spend 3 hours in a cooler. Is that safe? Thanks!
