Is anyone doing it anymore? I thought the dangers were too great. My gyn. says none for me. Mom has has breast cancer twice. Aunt died of it. Cousin has it. All due to HRT> I think the liablity is too great for doctors to prescribe it (Hormne replacement therapy, by the way 1:47). I don't know anyone on it.

What is HRT?

After trying to cope with menopause naturally (supplements, hours of aerobic exercise, relaxation, dietary changes, meditation, etc.), I chose to have HRT. My quality of life was affected by severe hot flashes with flushing and sweating. I have a job where I interact with the public and have to maintain a calm, controlled demeanor. HRT changed my life and I am just sad that my doctor will probably talk about discontinuing it at my next appointment.

I went through early menopause at 46. I am now post menopausal and am experiencing hair loss or slow hair regrowth, difficulty losing weight and extreme vaginal dryness. I wish I could take HRT but I have a history of blood clots. Not sure what I can take to help with all of this.

I went through early menopause at 38, didn't have much more than hot flashes
then last year I had a hysterectomy and the symptoms were manageable, just more hot flashes...no hrt
but now, a year later, I'm beginning heart palpitations and crankiness, so I dunno if it escalates

If you need an industrial-sized bottle of lube, I'd say your life is going pretty well!

I never did HRT due to history of cancer and I wouldn't have done it anyway. HRT is off limits for me. Having said that, the hot flashes only came at night. I was ready for the worst having heard all of the stories from women at work. I do think aerobic exercise helps with that and I do swim, run, walk, bike and lift weights. My doctor also told me aerobic exercise helps with hot flashes.

My mood is much more stable now than it was when I had periods. I was crazed the week before my period started. Agitated and angry.

No HRT due to endometrial cancer. It's mainly the hot flashes that get to me, especially now that the weather is warmer. I never had any menopausal mood swings. The PMS monster was far worse.

No HRT for me either. Hot flashes are a nuisance but I manage. The less artificial hormones I have to put in my body the better, IMO.

Hot flashes suck, but vaginal dryness sucks worse.

I like the Estring vaginal ring.

Not doing it and hadn't considered it. I'm fit, healthy, and at a good weight. I eat right and exercise strenuously 5 times per week. The hot flashes suck, but that's about it.

Hi there.

Has anyone on here opted not to do HRT for menopause? If so, I would love to hear about your experiences. Anyone who has done it or not done it and then changed their minds, I'd love to hear from you, too!
