Check out the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Center for Nonprofit Advancement and you should be able to find resources. Also, Chronicle for Philanthropy has a LinkedIn group where you can get some good information and feedback.

I'm in a similar position where this summer I will be writing my non-profit's first annual report. I haven't started the research process yet, but those are generally my go-to sources for what I do. Good luck!

For those of you in the nonprofit world - do you know of any tips or guides on how to prepare a nonprofit annual report? Specifically, I'm interested in tips on publishing performance measures that properly convey an NGO's achievements (without subjecting the nonprofit to undue scrutiny or criticism). What are the sorts of measures you publish regarding your program impacts?
