Yup, I use lifetime in Ashburn and I'm a gym rat, I've made a lot of gym friends and they told me the prices of Reston about 6 months ago and how the determine the levels. As much as I LOVE Lifetime and have made some good friends, I already give so much money to personal training. If they upped the dues to an Diamond level, I would quit and go to Golds. At some point in time it becomes preposterous, no matter how much disposable income one might have. Golds is $75/mo and I could still get a good work out in over there. I just happen to like Lifetime, but not like it enough to spend the kind of money is being asked out of the Reston folks.

I know a few people who live in Herndon and even through Reston is closer, they are sticking to Ashburn to save over $100/mo.

I live in Great Falls and Reston would be a lot more convenient. I suppose I could afford $200 but NFW I'd spend it there. I'd just feel stupid.........

demographics that can support higher dues. It has nothing to do with amenities offered.

Centreville went from Gold (or whatever) to Platinum. Probably because they figured they could.

Fairfax is probably not a Diamond club. Probably Platinum, like Ashburn and Centreville.

They have determined that the demographic in Reston can support the Diamond fees. You can go to any club Platinum and below.

I went by today, it's nice but it looks identical to Ashburn, except almost twice the price. They wouldn't give me an exact quote unless I filled out some paperwork but alluded to around $200 for a family. I guess they are hoping some fools and their money will soon be parted.

How do you manage that parking situation at Worldgate? All of Reston is becoming a parking disaster.

I generally agree Reston is a mess but I've never really had a problem at Worldgate. I left S&H when worldgate fell into disrepair. I stopped by a couple weeks ago to look again since I'm about ready to dump Lifetime and it was cleaned up quite a bit. Still a lot smaller than Lifetime. Not sure what to do (except that I won't be paying $200 in Reston) if the OP is right.

I know! I'm a LTF member in Ashburn, but work right next to the new LTF in Reston and carry a Sport and Health for my lunch work outs. It is still cheaper for me to carry 2 memberships than swich to Reston LTF.

That parking is going to be a huge mess.

I'm a member of Lifetime in Ashburn and was excited to hear they were opening a new branch in Reston right near our house. Stopped by the marketing center last week and was quoted over $200 a month for a couple.....

Insane..... NFW at that rate!
