You may have heard this by now, maybe by actually reading this thread for example! But trader joes offers all kinds of unprocessed (salmon, pommegranates) or barely processed (nuts in a bag, quinoa in a bag, cheddar cheese) items.

Trader joes is no more process-y than wegmans, Harris teeter or even whole foods. All 3 sell apples and all 3 sell chocolate ring dings and cheese doodles.

Not the seafood--not sustainable. TJ has one of the worst records:

not necessarily healthy, but if you care, they always carry kosher brisket. Other than Wagshal's, it's the only place I can count on.

In fact just had it for dinner- SO good & nutritious- turkey bolognese in the freezer section. It is just white meat turkey, tomatoes, spices. No crap or filler. I am hooked!!!

The only meat I buy there is the ground beef (very cheap and fresh) and frozen fish. other pre-seasoned meats they have there has too much sodium, and the chicken and steaks there are wayyyy too expensive.

I also buy frozen veggies there - much cheaper than Giant or Safeway.

And their rice and pasta (but not tomatoes).

Quinoa, steel cut oats, agave syrup, white whole wheat flour, organic veggies, frozen organic fruit for smoothies. Love the cheese section.

What are the healthy stuff you buy at TJ's that is worth it to you?
I heard they have a good multigrain baking mix that is a healthier version of bisquik. Any other stuff like that?
