Yes, this would be what I would consider, as well as that the AAP center could change in the next few years.

Something to keep in mind too that you have to request it year by year. If your eldest is in AAP at the center, once that child leaves, the other sibling can no longer pupil place. That leaves the other sibling starting all over again at a new school (unless that child does get into AAP of course).

We were approved to transfer the younger sibling by both the base school and the center principals.
The district vetoed the transfer, even though the grade (K) was well under capacity.
We did not find out about the denial until right before school started.

Even the school is closed for transfer, the principle can make case-by-case decision. Never hurt to ask.

if school is not open for transfers then you can't pupil place. i have this issue and rely on a group of parents to rotate picking up at 1 school and waiting for the other bus.

Generally no, but sometimes a Principal will let a child be pupil placed if there is room.

I'm a little confused about this-it would be much easier logistically to have them both at the same school, especially since we are in the walk zone (no bus) for our base school, but older dc would take the bus home from the AAP school. Both have release at the same time in the afternoon. Has anyone had a similar situation?
