BTW, you must clean the oven thoroughly before turning on the self-clean feature. We learned this the hard way. A housekeeper turned it on without looking inside. Some old nacho cheese or pizza cheese was on the racks and caught on fire. What fun! Fire, ambulance, big fire engines. We also learned that when the fire starts, the door auto. locks, so you cannot open it to spray it with a fire extinguisher.

Off oven cleaner. Take out the oven racks and spray it in the evening. Close the oven door and leave it until the next morning. You can wipe it clean with paper towels the next morning. I just did this recently and there was almost no smell at all.
