I had a child attend both McLean and Field, and I think McLean would probably be a better fit. Field is a lovely, lovely school but sometimes the kids with social issues can struggle. McLean is just better able to support its students, in the classroom and out. Field is open to different learners, and is more academically challenging than McLean, but the McLean upper school is quite good. McLean has much more structure -- also good for a child with the issues you describe.
I like both schools a lot. McLean is more accommodating, Field is somewhat accommodating. Visit both and be honest with yourself about what your DS needs. My feeling is that school shouldn't be a stretch.
