I have a verizon pay as you go..I pay $100 a year and roll over anything left. 25 cents/min for call. I really only use it when traveling or emergencies.

I take back my recommendation of Republic - here's a bad review that says it's junk.

If you only need phone calls, then the TracFone is good.
If you need text and email:
Virgin has the LG Optimus Elite (an Android phone) for $90 with unlimited talk, text, and 3G data for $55 a month.
Boost has the Samsung Galaxy Rush for $149 with unlimited everything for $55.
Republic offers unlimited hybrid 3G/Wifi service for $19 with the purchase of their phone for $250.

Thanks. I will look into this right now.

Thank you.
NO, not concerned about an iPhone. Just want a phone that I can make and receive calls from.

I have an Android phone on Boost Mobile. Thanks to their shrinkage plan (you make on time payments every 6 months they drop up to $15 off your bill) and I pay $40/month for unlimited talk text and web.

Virgin Mobile has good plans if you don't need/want unlimited and they start at $35/month. And, if you care about that thing, Virgin offers the iPhone 4 and 4s.

I typically use no more than 200 minutes a month.

How many minutes a month do you need?
Tracfone is the best way we've found to do really low minutes for little money. The phone service is fine. The customer service stinks.

Are you able recommend a provider? I do not have a desire to access the web via my phone. I want it for voice and a little texting.
