Squinting at my recessed kitchen lights to try to figure out whether they're 4-inch or 6-inch...
Whew! I think they're probably 4-inch. Yes!
(See that's pretty silly, though I guess I do prefer smaller ones in general.)

You don't know whether or not OP has high end home, do you? Don't put high end fixtures into a normal home. 6" is fine.

We are doing some remodeling in the kitchen--what sort of cans did you use for your lights and do you like them. Can you post a picture here? or a link to some good ones?
