August is the height of the season which is probably why you are having trouble finding a suite on your budget. Maybe wildwood nj?

Subject: Hotels with suites for summer getaway
Hi, I've looked at a lot of the obvious suggestions but I'm not finding exactly what we're looking for. Traveling with my husband and 2.5 year old for 3-5 nights in August. Would bring dog if dog-friendly but not essential. Suggestions?
- Driving distance, up to 5 hours away (I'll be 30 weeks pregnant so would prefer not to fly)
- Hotel or resort with nice pool
- Family friendly atmosphere (don't need fine dining)
- Don't need tons of activities, but a few things to do in the area beyond hiking would be great
- Could be in mountain setting or beach
- Most importantly, would like at least a 1 bedroom suite/apartment/condo setting so we don't have to go to bed at 7 pm with my child
We're willing to spend up to $400/night (less is better) but to get a suite at a lot of the places recommended on here seems to be twice that, or doesn't exist. I've looked at Hyatt Chesapeake, Greenbrier, Homestead, Nemacolin. Condos and other places on VRBO typically require a one week stay, and many don't have access to a pool. Any other suggestions?
