I am the PP member....they do not pressure you into donating a certain percentage of your income. They are just guidelines for when you are trying to figure out a pledge. Several of my WES friends struggle to make ends meet and do not pledge anything. Everyone is welcome no matter how much money they have or donate.

I have played music at weddings officiated by WES and they were the best cermonies of all.

However, in looking into joining, I noticed they want a percentage of your income, which in my mind means that pretty much only people who have the money to spare can join. Which is not all that ethical, IMO.

By the way, WES has a newcomer's orientation tomorrow after platform at around 12:30. My husband is running it. You can also feel free to contact me off-line at mmcc333@aol.com

18:52 sorry you had a bad experience. My husband and I have been WES members for almost 15 years. We find the community to be very welcoming and supportive. It really is a place that helps you grow into a better person. We have 2 children in the Sunday school there, and they love it too! Come check us out sometime.

There are a lot of better places out there for you that will welcome all people.

Useless without details.

Unsafe? You feared the staff would harm you because they did not think you are "wonderful"??? Ummm. OK.

WES. I went there some as a kid & there may come a time when I think it's right for our family. Even the level of religion in the Unitarian Church makes me somewhat uncomfortable

How about being helpful and offering some suggestions, PP.

Some friends & neighbors go regularly. They say it's very kid friendly. Lots of family activities and social events. They also regularly invite others (including us) to participate regardless of your interest in the teachings, so very open and welcoming.

Anyone here a member or attend meetings (platforms)? Are your kids involved? I'm interested in going and wanted to know what to expect.
