You need to be in a calorie deficit in order to lose weight. If you don't have time to work out, then you should eat less.

Um Duh, I know that. I've been trying but just eating less isn't working that well.

Stop eating flour, rice and potatoes for 30 days. Instead eat quinoa, black beans, sweet potatoes. And protein. Once I did that, the pounds came off. I then continued on past the 30 days and am loving it.

It's hard at first--no pasta, no pizza, cookies, etc. But you push through and then don't miss it. I did not give up sugar and love having a small piece of dark chocolate every night.

I am right there with you but with a 1 yr old. I have found that eating low carb/paleo helps me. Sugar and sweets are my downfall.

You are my hero! I don't drink soda. I can give up dessert and added sugar. I'll struggle with carbs though. If I can have veggie carbs like a sweet potato, I could live. It's the exercise that I can't seem to get my act in gear to do.

Sweet potatoes and small servings of white rice are OK. Avoid bread, pasta, cereal (even whole wheat).

I lost my pregnancy weight, my new job weight, and am now working on the grad school weight (22 lbs, with approx 10 to go) by working out 6 days a week and religiously logging my food. I use myfitnesspal.com. Depending on how much I work out, I eat about 1400-1800 calories a day. It's been quite slow, but it has worked. I can eat whatever I want, in moderation.
