Either immediately or in a few days. If it's one I already know about, or I know is a sure thing, then I respond as soon as I get the invite. If I need to figure out plans, see what other family members are doing, or see if kid wants to attend, then it will be a few days.

As long as I am before the RSVP date, I don't worry about the speed...or if there is no date I consider a week before very reasonable. I read the e-mail, then need to check with child, check the calendar, mentally check for things that may not have made the calendar. It is not a high priority to respond immediately just before the RSVP date.

I don't "view" it until i know for sure. When I open the email I can see the specifics and then when I find out if DD wants to go I respond.

That being said, I usually respond the same day or the next day.

It's the worst when you can tell they opened the evite over a week ago and haven't responded at all.

You can even click "Maybe" and say that 'DD's schedule is full that day but I'm going to try to move some tihings around because she would love to celebrate with susie.Thank you for the invitation.'

A few hours. If I know my kid loves the party-haver, I can RSVP without asking them. But if it's a kid I don't recall them being close with I'll want to wait until I can double-check. "Are you and Larla friends now? Because you got invited to her birthday party on Sunday. You'd have to leave Hebrew School early; do you want to go?"

It depends on the RSVP date and potential scheduling conflicts.

I usually answer within a day or 2 (ask kids first, scheck husband's schedule etc) but also note the RSVP date and will always respond by that date. I don't play games with this but suspect that other people do.

1-2 days usually. I waited a week once to see if my son's baseball schedule would come out. I didn't want him to miss the first game. It didnt. So I RSVP'd yes to the birthday party and sure enough the schedule came out a few days later, with a conflict.

My child is only 6, if that matters, but I try to make sure he gets to every birthday party he's invited to. He's social. He likes almost everyone. I'd still encourage him to attend a party for a child he wasn't crazy about.

I've done several parties and it seems about 1/4 respond right away and the rest wait until last minute. Doesn't seem to matter whether it's paper invitations or evite.

Evites often end up in my junk file. I don't respond because I don't get them.

Yes, scheduling is tough. I wish we could make it to all evites but everyone in the family has their own schedules going..
