OP here. Thanks for your thoughts. What about going part-time? I've been thinking about that option as well.

Pp here, I'm sure I could have given less than 6 weeks notice, but since I wanted to get positive recommendations from the Drs i worked directly under, i decided to do everything exactly like how it was lined out in my contract.

I had also overheard our office manager give someone a poor and false review of a coworker who had recently quit.

Agree with pp. I am the poster who quit at 3 weeks. It was an incredibly toxic job that was causing health issues. Dh and I had talked about me finding another job and then I got pregnant. My work required a 6 week notice so i gave notice pretty quickly after finding out. In the end,even if I did miscarry,staying in my job wasnt worth it. But i do recommend you get involved in volunteer work or take classes. It keeps you busy and will help if you decide to work later on.

Why would anyone say to stay at a horrible job, is beyond me. Wow. Quit. Whenever you want to go back, at least you can pick something you feel good about.

oh pp here, and as morbid as it is, I agree with the person who pointed out you may have an unexpected miscarriage, God forbid...

As someone who has had the experience of hanging out at home, pregnant, basically waiting for baby to come... I recommend staying at work and saving up that money for some special treat... who knows what your hormones are going to be up to throughout the pregnancy... the best thing may be to be at work, busy, not focusing on the symptoms of pregnancy and not letting yourself get stressed because you are going to be out of there very, very soon!

I agree with 19:59, quit after 4 months.

I would quit out of sheer misery. You don't the need income, and you don't need the stress.

Don't quit yet bc you could easily miscarry.

I did at 3 months pregnant. Didnt need the income and had insurance through my husband. One of the best decisions I've ever made. I did some volunteer work in my field and did a couple continuing education classes through a local hospital

Just found out that I am pregnant. I've been at my current job 2.5 years and it is very stressful, I dread going in every day and many days it makes me feel miserable. We don't need my income. I enjoy being a professional but I'm not sure the stress is worth it given that I will have a high risk pregnancy. I am already feeling morning sickness which is making work much more miserable. I've been thinking about asking to go part time instead of quitting, but I am worried of my boss's reaction, and how upset they will be about going part-time. Not sure what to do, this has been weighing on my mind.
