Have you heard anything back from customer service? I would be writing and calling them until you got some help. That is outright blackmail and I have to agree with the others. I would not remove the feedback, even if it ends up meaning you lose your money. I think you can also file a report with PayPal. They can hold the money while the case is investigated. Check with them to see what you can do.
Lastly I never leave feedback for anyone I buy from that I am unhappy with until I get my refund. For exactly this reason, they can be nasty all they want because they have already seen what the buyer will do. No feedback left, they will bend over backwards to avoid any chance of a negative feedback. At best, they could have asked for it back, given you a refund and gotten a feedback that read item not as expected, seller refunded my money. That way, you are able to leave a feedback that isnt negative but clearly tells others to be aware, they dont sell quality items.

Well what's more important to you: getting your money back or helping others avoid purchasing from her? Personally I'd just change it and get my money back and let the other buyers beware but if you really care, you can leave the review and eat the $33.

Aw, did she? I finally had to give Regretsy up when some of the images burned themselves into my brain and I couldn't take anymore, but when people suggested that I sell my art on Etsy, I just thought of the sellers fees and what a joke the Etsy policies are for individuals who actually make what they sell.

For years she posted hilarious entries of actual Etsy items and railed against the myth that Etsy is a community of artists with unique offerings. The truth is that there is a lot of shit from factories in China. Folks on Etsy are marketing it as "one of a kind" when it's really some polyester scarf that you wouldn't pay more than $1 for.

It is blackmail. Horrible practice. My thought would be to write another piece of feedback documenting her response and that she wanted to hold your refund hostage. I'd eat the $ and give the scarf away to Goodwill. Seriously, this woman deserves to be outed.

Could you change it to something truthful but not inflammatory? Describe the scarf factually and also state that you asked for and received a refund?
I'm curious too the difference between eBay and etsy. I know with ebay, its relatively straight forward to get a Paypal refund for an item that's "significantly not as described"

I bought a scarf from Etsy and at the time, failed to see the item was shipped from China (I didn't even know Etsy had sellers from China!). In the picture it looked beautiful and the description stated it was "100% top quality silk" - the thing arrived today and to say I am disapointed is an understatement. It is clearly NOT silk but some cheap quality fabric. I think even polyester can feel better than that! Im not not picky, but it REALLY does feel horrible - I even asked my husband to tell what he thought and after touching he said: "cheap"
Anyway, I paid $28.00 for this plus $5.00 shipping fee - I left a very bad feedback (REALLY BAD FEEDBACK - I didn't spare it), opened a case with Etsy and contacted the seller.
She just contacted me back saying she doesn't think I was fair to the scar and there are many types of silk and her's is a top quality one, blah blah blah...
She said she will refund $33.00 once I return the item AND change my feedback. I responded to say I will ship the item promptly, but didn't say yes or nay to the change feedback demand.
She sent another e-mail saying she sent a "kiss make up" (whatever that is) and again said she will refund once I change my feedback.
I don't feel like changing it, nor I feel like I should. The picture and description are really misleading and the item is such an inferior quality (more like dollar store quality), that I feel it is a scam. I think others should beware and honestly, I am still pissed she had the balls to chard $28.00 for that piece of crap.
