Large nonprofit: 12 weeks, fully paid. Company-paid short term disability covers some percentage of salary and the organization picks up the rest.

Oh, and it's the same for co-parents, except they don't get STD, so the company just pays the whole amount.

large nonprofit. 12 weeks unpaid FMLA, as required by law. For payment, you have 6-8 weeks of STD paid at 70% of salary (premiums paid 100% by employer), anything else is out of PTO, but we do accrue a ridiculous amount of PTO every year (I think mine is something like 37 days), so saving up for a fully paid mat leave is not difficult.

12 weeks unpaid through FMLA. I pay for disability insurance via paycheck deduction. Got 6 weeks of my leave paid by that. There's a 2 week wait before that kicks in, so I used 2 weeks of PTO for that. The remaining weeks were LWOP.

Small (130 employees) govt consulting company.

i am sure the big fancy progressive companies have amazing benefits, but what about all the "normal" companies out there? what do they do?

Same here (fed government) - except FMLA here is 16 weeks - its unpaid or we can use vacation/sick leave

Small trade association. Our company allows up to 12 weeks - you use accrued PTO first, then it's unpaid. Company also offers short term disability at the employee's cost (not expensive) which covers 60% of salary for 6 weeks after PTO is exhausted. Finally, the company continues to pay all health benefits through the leave period.

Jealous of biglaw's 18 weeks of paid leave. Wow.
