Subject: Joint investment accounts -- pro's and cons for married couples
Why would you not have a joint account? Our joint brokerage account is where we have most of our investment money.
Do married people really set up two parallel accounts for money they save outside tax-deferred retirement accounts?

We do, but only because I saved up money he didn't know about and invested it. Made it joint. Though he doesn't care about investing, and wouldn't touch it. I don't think DC is a joint-property (non)state, but neither of us would screw the other.

DH and I comingle our finances, and I don't see us ever divorcing. What are the pro's and cons of having some investment accounts with joint ownership? Thanks!
