Shout gel -- the kind with the brush on top of the container (you don't need the brush.) The gel gets the grease out.

I have a very low tech trick that works wonders if you do it immediately. Chalk!! Just "color" the spot with a stick of chalk several times, let it rest. It absorbs all the grease and then wash as usual. It is amazing. Don't know if it will work on set spots though but keep it in mind for the next time.
I now keep chalk everywhere.

I've found the $1 jar of Goop you can buy at any hardware store works great as well.

OIL EATER DEGREASER. You find it at Home Depot and it takes out all oil stains but doesn't hurt fabrics. Great on pans, too.

Shout Advanced works well on oil-based stains. You can put it on up to 7 days in advance of doing laundry. Let it air dry.

Dawn combined with some hydrogen peroxide. Blot it on stain with a cotton ball, then launder the item. Air dry.

Dawn dish soap. It is meant to fight grease, so I always use it on any stains/spills involving something oil based.
