We go for walks together. We go on "date nights". This summer after 16 years we will have three days by ourselves without any children as their sleepaway camps FINALLY overlap a bit.

We have a 27 foot sailboat and we learned to sail together. We bought the boat for almost nothing several years ago. We spent weeks cleaning and repairing the boat and then learned to sail together. We take her out almost every weekend for a day sail and do overnight trips every couple of months. We are sailing to the Bahamas in just a few weeks.

They say sailing together can either make or break a marriage. It's been wonderful for ours! My DH retires in nine years. We're going to sell this boat, upgrade to something bigger, and take off for a three month cruise!

We take off work 6 times a year and spend the day together when the kids are in school/camp.

We work-out together 3-4 times a week. (We get up early or run while the kids are in an activity.) We go to Las Vegas for a long weekend once a year. We make sure we have time for sex at least 1-2 times per week.

Date night every Saturday night.

No family or support that's not paid. We have a pretty much standing bi weekly date. Hope to get away for a weekend overnight this summer. We've not been separated from dc since birth and he's 6! We also watch tv series together, when there's something good like Downton Abbey. I got to gym regularly and see gfs once aomth or so for lunch or tea.

We pay a sitter go away for the weekend to one of our favorite pre-kid places once or twice a year. The rest of the year we'll do a date night every other month. No family in town so we do what we can manage.

I am curious to see what other people do to maintain their relationship with their spouse/partner and what they do to rejuvenate themselves. So, what has worked for you and what do you wish you could do?
