My DD is 6 1/2. Would it be too late to start her in lessons?

We have used both Virginia Russian Academy and Metaphor and prefer Metaphor. We also like their summer camp.

I have personal experience with Olympus, Metaphor and the Russian school Shalom based in the Rockville JCC.
Olympus historically has closer ties to the Russian embassy. Metaphor is independent. Both schools provide decent language training, though there may be mediocre teachers.
The school in Rockville would work for you if you are Jewish. Classes meet on Sundays.
There is also a Baptist church in NoVA that has a sizable Russian-speaking congregation and there is a school and camp affiliated with it. Don't know how well they teach they language, but they are very aggressive in religious indoctrination of students and families.
Any school you contact, ask about religious affiliations.

Our family has recently relocated from NYC where there's an abundance of Russian language schools and classes. We are looking for Saturday/Sunday classes for our 5yo DS. Preferably in NOVA.
