My name is Caroline. People frequently call me Carolyn, but I don't mind as Carolyn is a beautiful name as well. My family has always called me Carzie (pronounced Care-z). I agree with the person that says see what fits her, but Carolyn is a beautiful choice.

I love Callie, Caddie, and Caro as nicknames for Caroline.

I love both Carolyn and Caroline but deliberately ruled them out because I didn't care for any of the nicknames.

Callie is a name unto itself.

C, as in "little C" or paired with another initial.

I have a Caroline and a ton of people suggested we call her Callie! I really like it, but I like her given name better

Another one I have heard a lot is Carly, which I like too.

I like Caro. It reminds me of The Yaya Sisterhood book.

But OP, I prefer it when nicknames grow organically rather than when people try to plan out a "cute" or "sophisticated" nickname before their child is even born. Why not wait until she gets here, then decide what you think fits her?

Carolyn is lovely, but you are setting up the lifetime of "Caroline" v. "Carolyn"...for that reason alone I'd pass on either name.
