Tee hee. The HR staffers in my building are the biggest screw ups I've ever seen.. They seem to spend most of their time planning parties and strongarming employees for party/gift contributions and CFC donations

They are also the biggest gossips in the building. Easy to see why they are hated.

The only place(s) where I can think of HR as being ok is a place like CIA where many times it is used as a one-two year breather from the field or analyst desk.

why would anyone do this unless they did not have skills to produce in the marketplace?

I was able to dabble a bit in recruiting at my old job and I loved it. I would like to switch to doing it as a full time career and am curious to hear others experiences from working in HR.
