As one of the people above who asked for it back, I think this is a wonderful compromise. For those of us who infrequently visit popular or long threads, it's nice to have the option to hit the <END> key to go to the bottom of the page and then be able to jump to somewhere in the middle of the thread. But it doesn't have to be at the top of the page where it might get in the way of those who are reading along frequently. Good choice. Thanks, Jeff!

That's possible to do, but will take some time to work out and I don't have a lot of time these days. If I find some free time, I'll try to do it.

Okay, due to popular demand, I've turned the goto feature at the bottom of the page, but not the top. I hope that is an acceptable compromise.

I looked for it today...when I returned to the "thing you secretly oppose" thread and it had ballooned to 60 pages. I had to choose between backtracking from 60 or advancing from 3.

I use this - not constantly but I'd definitely find it very, very annoying to have to go through all those pages if I was looking for a quote I wanted to pull, etc. I think this is something folks will notice eventually and not like. BTW, I noticed it before but thought it was my computer doing something weird.

Oh, no, I love the got to page x. Some of these posts are VERY long-- usually the best ones. Would help if you could tell people not to quote, quote, quote (multiple add ons to posts over and over with only a new line at the bottom) as it makes it very long.

I'm actually very glad it's gone--I keep accidentally clicking on it while reading on my phone.

I've been missing it on a couple of the recent long threads.

I found it helpful, but lately I have been skipping the long threads, so I hadn't noticed it. But I agree that it is helpful when you are trying to go to a long thread that you haven't visited for a while and want to try and catch up.

I was trying to simplify the pages. It's been gone for weeks and you are the first to mention it. If others feel strongly about it, I'll consider returning it.

It's very useful when there is a 60 something page thread you last read when it was at page 22.
