The scariest thing about these threads is how many guys seem to think if they've had sex with a male they're straight. This is so basic it's not funny. You are NOT STRAIGHT. I've never before had to assume that a man I was dating might have had sex with a man and still consider himself straight. From this day forward, I'm going to ask my dates. I think that number also sounds high and I'd like to know what "homosexual experience" means.

That said, I dated a man in my early 20s who had had a relationship with a man before me. He was up front about it. It was his only homosexual experience at that time (we are not in touch now, so who knows). He knew the man was gay (man was out of the closet). They were friends first, and then gradually developed romantic feelings. He was not explicit about their sex life, but my understanding was that that sexual relationship did not represent a major deviation in sex from what he was otherwise into (he was a top) with the exception of no vagina being involved. According to him, the relationship ended because while he was very much into this man, he just did not identify as "GAY" and that was a problem for his boyfriend, who wanted someone who was more of an activist for gay rights. I have no reason to doubt any of the things I was told, though obviously I cannot really verify any of them 10 years later.

You can't trust anything in his reports. To give an example: he to have gotten research on children sexuality from parents, teachers, children themselves etc. 40 yrs later it came to light that he had gotten the information from one-single pedophile that had abused many children over the course of his lifetime.

I'm not a statistician and I could also go on for hours but in short, the number is no where near that high.

I've been friends with a lot of gay men over the course of my life and my impression is that the straight men who have gay encounters (including married men) are often closeted/in denial.

All I can say is, there is no amount of booze on God's earth to make me fool around with another guy. There is still too much on my bucket list of what I want to do with and to women. I really don't believe the number is anywhere that high.
