I usually go with an earlier bedtime for a few days.

I agree with the previous PP, keep your baby at home in the future.

I would cut the nap for now and wake her up around her normal time. Just keep being consistent.

your daughter may be testing you now that her schedule has been disrupted. With my daughter, the upheaval was due to an ear infection. She couldn't sleep or get comfortable for a couple nights without being held--very rare as she is a great sleeper. After those two nights, she was totally into sleeping and being held. We had to sleep train and frankly we had to Cry it Out. Life is back to normal. You just have to force it. She is now a "terrible" two and while I think that is an unfortunate name, the reality is that at about this age, toddlers try to assert independence and control in many ways.

My aren't you helpful. What a jerk.

Well if her little snowflake didn't have overnight visits, then her sleep schedule wouldn't be out of whack. Clearly her MIL and SIL have no control over her daughter and shouldn't be allowed overnight visits. Shame on your MIL OP! She should know better than to let a 2 year stay up until 11:30!

That's besides the point. The overnight has already happened and now she's looking for advice to get back on track and not someone to chide her for sending her child on an overnight visit with family.

I'm sure she'll be back posting in a few weeks that she sent her daughter there again and it happened again. I've seen this before! I'm not the only one who feels that way, another poster even said keep her at home.

We’ve always had our 2 year old DD in bed by 8. Well the last few nights, she’s been fighting sleep and won’t fall asleep until about 10-10:30. Over the weekend, she stayed with my MIL and I found out from my SIL (she still lives at home) that during the weekend she let DD stay up until 11:30 watching Spongebob. I asked her in the future when she stays over there to not let her stay up that late and her response is, “I don’t mind her staying up late with me”. I had to explain to her that she’s on a bedtime schedule and now that has thrown her off of it. So anyway, what can I do to get her back on schedule?
