Why do most companies not give it? Are they worried about lawsuits? It is ridiculous when you go through a lengthy process only to get no feedback as a candidate.

Consulting firms are good at giving feedback but is it an industry/cultural thing (consulting firms are notorious in giving and asking for feedback constantly between employees/manager etc)?
