They wiped out all of your email while you were on leave? Why is that? I guess I can understand why you can't access while on leave, but deleting all of your stuff seems a bit much.

Just an FYI - only recently (maybe within the last 3-5 years) did my large multinational consulting firm start giving you the higher salary while you were on leave. Previously if raises went in effect while you were on leave you didn't get the higher salary until you came back.

Have you spoken to your manager's boss? In my company every raise/bonus has to be reviewed and approved two levels up (my boss's boss reviews and oks my raise). It's part of the annual budget process.

Do you or HR have any record of your annual review/yearly assessment? Most companies require there to be one on record for every employee. Ask for a written copy of the annual review. Even if there isn't a raise specifically cited on the review, you can ask why an extremely positive review received no annual increase. Also, do you have any contact information for your former manager. Even if he left the firm, can you find his home address (I know what town my manager lives in and would try to track her down) and send him a letter? He may be able to confirm that he did file a yearly assessment for you with a recommendation of a raise. Then you can take such a letter to HR and say that this was his intent but that you were unable to follow up on this at the time due to your maternity leave.

Do your new managers agree you are entitled to the raise? If yes , then it is an HR issue.

I don't. Since I was on leave, I was not allowed access to my email (for insurance reasons). My mgr said he would email me the new figure, but I could not check my email and when I came back, they had wiped out all my emails. Obviously, I feel stupid as I usually get everything in writing.

I have gone to HR multiple times now (calls and emails to our POC and another POC) and have gotten no response! I have been completely ignored. It's hard to go to HR in person, as most of our work is done on client sites.

Probably a mistake. Talk to HR.

i work for a well-known large consulting firm in the area. my yearly assessment coincided with my maternity leave. while i was in the hospital, i spoke to my mgr who gave me my assessment over the phone and told me my new salary. i took an extended leave of absence and during that time my mgr left the firm. i am now back and when i noticed that my salary was my old salary they said they had no record of me getting a raise. i have told my new mgrs and HR multiple times but have gotten complete radio silence! i am glad to be back working but not sure about working for this place anymore. i feel like i should just suck it up since there have been lay offs and they are allowing me a flexible schedule. but still i find it unfair and i worked very hard for that raise (and brought a lot of money into the company).
