I would say I notice stuff like this on women because I am a women myself and have ideas of what is appropriate for an interview. That said, the males I work with that have done interivews of a male candidate have viewed it "as a point against" certain candidates whe, for example, they wore a blazer instead of a matching suit jacket - something that i didn't notice but I suspect that the men noticed because they are more in tune as males themselves.

Yes! When I have interviewed women that wear skirt suits but no panty hose that has been a point against them. I say this as a women myself who doesn't wear pantyhose to work, but for an interview (just like a court appearance) you should.

I would definitely wear them. Better to be overdressed than under.
Sidenote, the PP mentioned buying 'good' pantyhose. I've been buying drugstore pantyhose and never even though of buying 'good' ones- is there a difference?? I never noticed, but I don't wear them a lot.

Depends. If you are wearing a skirted suit or dress -- then yes. DC is really conservative. If pants -- don't worry. Good luck on the interview!

Yes. Why risk it? The interviewer may feel like so many of us do - that bare legs are skanky and unprofessional.

Yes. Over dressed is okay and expected for interviews. Under dressed is not good. There's no downside to wearing them.

Since this is DC, I'm going to guess the answer is no and advise you to wear very sheer hose, but run out and buy good ones, not drugstore crap. Even the Assets brand at Target will do.
