unless there is a downpour, head out for a walk in central park in the rain. With a big golf umbrella, you can walk together in the park and there will be far less people. Alternately you could wander around neighborhoods under an umbrella, stepping into shops in SoHo, West Village, etc.

2nd natural history...it is Fabulous. Make sure you watch video at front of museum to learn how they designed the lay out of exhibits...it is genius. go downstairs at look at the incredible art of making those animals completely real...
I love China town for dim sum and bubble tea... Have a French dinner at a bistro in Carnegie hill. Visit the American Wing at the Met...apropos in light of recent events in Boston. Bring Umbrella .

All of the above plus dining out and shows.
Bring a raincoat and large umbrella and Wellies. If it's not pouring you can still enjoy walking around. Also forecast may be wrong. I went to NY a month ago and forecast was for three days of rain but we only had one half day.

So bummed because my husband and I are headed up there this weekend to celebrate our anniversary. I had just planned to walk and wander, but now with the forecast I am realizing we will probably be spending most of the time inside. Any good suggestions for current exhibits? shows? indoor tours?
