OP - not to be snarky...but what does it matter if it happened to someone before? For one person, it could have been nothing. For another, a blood clot. For another, a tumor.

OP Here: At the moment, no. I was on the shot up until last summer but went off of it because it was messing with my period.

For the same reason that there was a thread a few days ago called "Diagnose me please." People just think that an anonymous source on the Internet will give sound medical advice for free!

OP Here: There is really no need to be snarky. I was just seeing if anyone else has had this happen before and/or if anyone had any input. I was not asking someone on here to diagnose me and assume they had it correct. Just asking for some advice.

17:25, I know and these threads drive me insane. I work in an ED and I would rather evaluate someone who winds up with something minor but had enough intelligence (or read online) that it could be something major. I had a patient who was embarrassed to be dragged in by his wife because he was experiencing calf pain which he related to doing too much yard work. He ended up having a blood clot which very well could have killed him if it became dislodged. I'd much rather people be overly cautious than rely on the internet to self diagnose. There is a lot of bad information out there!!

Yes, in the future OP you should go to the ER or an urgent clinic in your area. That is what they are for.

I wouldn't mess around, you should take yourself to the ER. That's a serious symptom. A primary practitioner will probably just end up sending you in for tests anyways.

OP Here: Thank you for the comments. The reason I didn't call a doctor is because at the moment, I don't have a doctor. I was living in another state for a year for a job and just moved back home a couple of months ago and haven't found a new doctor yet. I wasn't making the assumption that because I am only 24, it was nothing. It definitely had me worried. I plan on calling around to some doctors tomorrow to see who is taking new patients and to see what this could have been. Thanks.

Yes, please check with a doctor and please let us know how things go. Hope it's something minor. I had some crazy symptoms and significant pain that lasted for 10 minutes. It turned out to be as simple as tendinitis in various areas. It's not a walk in the park, but the numbing scared me into thinking it was a stroke. I'm glad I went to a doctor rather than worrying what could be.

I agree with this. Could be nothing, but you shouldn't ignore something about your body that scares you. I have a friend whose foot went numb recently, and fortunately she didn't ignore it; she had a growth in her brain that had to be removed quickly.

My mother's first symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis came at 26 when she developed partial paralysis down one side. It was mostly apparent in her eyes and face - one eye couldn't move.

It's probably nothing but there is something called a transient ischemic event which is like a stroke with no lasting effects. It doesn't sound like that's what you had but really, why mess with it? You aren't immportal, even at 24. Call the doctor and if it happens again, go to the ER.

I'm a 24 y/o female and last night I was sitting on the couch watching TV and got up to get a drink. As I was walking into the kitchen, I noticed that the left side of my stomach felt really weird and when I touched it, it felt like the inside of my stomach was numb. It was a weird tingling feeling and when pushing on my stomach, it just felt like the inside was numb. It really freaked me out and it lasted for about 10 minutes and then went away. Of course I googled it and the results freaked me out more. Stroke, something about your appendix, etc. Like I said, I am 24 and am in pretty good health (lost 60 pounds about 9 months ago and have about 10 more to go) and don't have any other issues. Does anyone have any idea of what this could possibly be? I am hoping its just some freak thing but I don't know! TIA!
