is there a tmobile phone for someone who rarely uses their cell? we currently pay for our parents, about $13/piece per month...but they don't use their phone more than 100 minutes a month.

In cities no problem, but further out I get dead spots. I save a ton with it, but I will go with Verizon once I done with my contract.

I had a lot of 'dead' spots with tmobile, more than when I first bought the phone.

We just switched back to tmobile after 3 years with At&t. We switched back then for the iPhone and are moving back now that tmobile has it and it is time for new phones. Never had problems with tmobile call coverage. They are now beating At&t on data speed tests and so far so good for us. They have a great searchable coverage map.

So as of January 2014... how is T mobile service for Silver Spring....specifically Eastern Avenue near Rock Creek Park.

We have two pay-as-you-go TMobile phones, one for me (1500 talk/text minutes a month, 30 mg data) and one for teen DS (unlimited text, 100 min talk, data). $30/month each. Coverage is great, we live in Silver Spring.

I'll never sign a contract again.

I think that you should also look into Virgin mobile. You can get an unlimited plan for $30 a month if you buy your own phone and sign up for automatic bill pay.

I've also had it for years, and generally had good coverage in metro DC, Chicago (but some dropped calls there), New York and New Jersey. Also no problems on travel to San Francisco or Boston.

I'm interested in this as well.

Does anyone else have any other coverage outside the areas 16:52 mentioned? Thanks for your info, 16:52!

I've had T-Mobile for years just for cell-phone service. I work in DC, live in Bethesda. I've never had a problem here or traveling in Baltimore, New York, Florida.

We're thinking of switching from Verizon Wireless to T-Mobile to get out from the two-year contract and higher monthly rates (would save about $500/year on cellphone costs).

Can current T-Mobile subscribers share their views on coverage?
Anyone have the Nexus 4 or another good non-iPhone smartphone on T-Mobile who wants to give a review?
