I had a similar experience with my new knock out roses bushes last year. Yes, they are knock outs and will survive almost anything. But they did develop black spot fungus because of a couple of heavy rain storms and a little powdery mildew. I sprayed them with Serenade and immediately killed off the fungus and my roses flourished. I love my knock outs!

Yeah, I didn't predict that we would be having 80 degree weather at the start of April. The over-watering was in response to the sun/ heat. Too many problems.
I have heard they are resilient, but they aren't having a good start.

So you planted them right before high heat and lots of rain. The roses have been stressed in their first few days.
But I agree with the PPs, the roses should survive and be fine.

I planted three last week and being a bit of a newbie gardener I over-watered them (leaves are yellowing a bit).
The folks at merrifield nursery suggested pushing the mulch back and aerating the area by poking holes down to the root. I started that process last night, just in time for the torrential downpour today. I can see puddles of water around the bushes. Wondering if I should just pull the plant up and take it in and replant when the rain stops? I am afraid I am going to lose them altogether!
