I wore them for a couple of summers and I swear they hurt my feet for the long term. They are perfect for my casual style and active life, but the sole is very stiff --it doesn't bend when your foot bends to take a step, and it's very hard, there is no soft cushion -- and caused my toes to do weird things. They even caused pain among my toes where they meet the ball of my foot. I stopped wearing them and my DS stopped, too. DH never liked them because of the odor factor. But they do last for years and $100 is what I typically pay for good shoes.

I find them a bit heavy and clunky, and they do have an odor even though none of my other shoes do. I wore a slip-on pair at Disney and they made a squeaky flip flop sound. Try jambu or some of the other teva sandals

Yes. I've had my black Keens for years - been hiking and kayaking in them and they still look fine.

I prefer Tevas; they are incredibly durable and have had them for a couple of years now. (Keens had the reputation of smelling when they got wet. They may have fixed this problem.)

The little black thing gets pushed together, one cylinder into the other. Push down not out.

My son loves Keens year-round (they make non-sandal versions too.) Question though - I seem to be incapable of adjusting the shoelaces properly. It seems to require the use of pliers to wrest the little black plastic piece apart to shorten them, and then it never clicks back together properly. I've just had to order new shoelaces for him because now he can't tighten them. Anyone else have this problem? What am I doing wrong?

For adults, yes. since you will use them for many seasons. For kids, they are indestructible but grown out of quickly so I buy them second-hand for a fraction of the price.

What size do you wear? If you have smallish feet (like an 8 or under) you can wear kids shoes. They are about 40 dollars less and more durable.

If you wear a 7-8 you can wear a kids 6.

If you wear a ladies 6 you can wear a kids 5.

Same with Uggs.

$100 is too much. Go on amazon or use google shopping to find the lowest price (sometimes an off color will be cheaper). I think DH just got a pair that were around $80.

I have had the same pair of Keens since 2005. They rock. I have the ones that can also go into the water (they will dry very quickly in the sun). They are vey comfortable. DH has them too, as does DS (it's a little corny).

Cons: they are not remotely fashionable (obviously), so can't double as work sandals. Also, your feet can smell when you take them off.

The whole family wears keens. It is either keens or merrell. They both make great quality shoes and are worth the price. I like the merrell barefoot right now. 90 bucks on zappos.

Yes - I buy one pair every summer for my active DS. He is out, running around every single day, and they still look great at the end of the season, which means my baby DS will also wear them when he's old enough. I think they're well worth the price. They're the only shoes DS owns for summer play!

$100 for Keen sandals sounds very high. Check Amazon for shoes. There's a large selection

I want to buy some shoes for summer that I can where when I go outside with my very active preschoolers, that are comfortable, can get wet and will be comfortable and cool walking around Disney for 2 days this summer. Keen sandals are highly related on Zappos, but at $100 a pair, are a huge investment. Are they worth it?
