Where are the neighbors, OP? Side/s, rear, both? That would help to get a better idea. Is a fence a possibility?

We have a backyard deck that's hardly used, partly because there's not much sense of privacy (nearby road and all the neighbors can see in).

Any suggestions for increasing privacy?

I got suggestions for potted trees, a pergola, hanging plants, etc. and am looking for couple of more ideas.
