Not OP, but "preppy" has always seemed pretty dull to me.

Like this house. Meh. And I just don't see the appeal of upper NW in general, especially this outpost.

Love that house, the decor does not look at all overdone to me - in fact if anything some of the rooms are a little sparse. They probably signficantly decluttered for the photos/sale. It looks like normal people live there, unlike some of th photos posted of the houses with all the intricate moldings, miles of drapes and swags, etc. I'd swap the brass hardware in the kitchen for chrome though. The brass looks dated.

I especially like the girl's room - may use some of those ideas in my DDs room.

The furniture is more "trying too hard" than prep. The decor looks recently purchased and is a bit too showy. Also, I think that house is in Spring Valley, right? If it were on Lowell in Cleveland Park, I might agree with you.
