I agree with this. It almost doesn't matter if she AS or not if she also has a language LD that goes unaddressed. Neuropsych testing should also uncover whether it's an executive functioning issue.

I would go back to the psychologist. You liked him/her, she's willing to do a school observation (which is HUGE for diagnosing kids with ASDs, much preferable to one-on-one with a neuropsych), he/she already knows your child and has a benchmark for the evaluation.

When dd was 5.5, she was diagnosed with aspergers, although it wasnt a perfect fit. A the time, the psychologist who diagnosed her (whom we liked a lot) wanted to re-evaluate a year later.
It's been a year now, and in some ways AS fits well and in other ways it doesnt. She also is struggling with reading, although I'm not sure how much of that is still age-appropriate.
She's 6.5 now. Should we go back to the psychologist (who will also do a school observation) or go for neuropsych testing?
