We missed it altogether. The flood of paperwork that came home from ES was overwhelming while we were renovating our house. Got in anyway. I would have at least made an effort if I had known...

I didn't call you a liar...I said I think they are liars. (Different than "you are lying." It is my opinion...and I am entitled to it).

If someone wants to call me a liar, you are correct, I should just tell that person to not make sweeping generalizations about others without proof instead of saying to treat others nicely on the message boards.

When my oldest was in 1st, I ran into another Mom at pickup during testing week. She was fretting over the NNAT and I asked her what she was talking about. She gave me a really nasty look and explained it with a very condescending tone. I did not know that because I work full time and my youngest was fighting for his life against cancer, so I was more focused on chemo treatments and juggling sick days. So, yeah, some people do have more important things going on.

We moved to FFX County from oveseas when DC was in second grade. Knew DC was taking a test, but had no idea what it was for. I assumed it was some sort of assessment.

We had no idea of the schedule. It was probably announced in the Tuesday folder. My wife probably read it. I did not know. We found out about the CogAT when my DD came home. Wanting to see and play with the new puppy. She also told us about a test she took.

She is now in AAP, and the dog is a very happy and good dog. And yes, the dog did eat her homework at least once.

Thanks for your opinion. I NOW read these sites, but when my nine year old was in first and second grade, I did not. I was not aware of exactly when the test was and we did no prep. I love reading these boards for the honest, valuable information that is passed back and forth, but please stop it with the intentional snarkiness. You have started an ENTIRE thread just to call people liars. I opened it because because the NNAT/CogAt topic interests me. Had I known this was the purpose, I would not have . I have a job, other kids, and tons of activities...I still know what is going on about something like this. I would agree some parents don't know...but would not agree that someone who posts on these education boards in this site fall into that group. Liars.
